The south coast of Peru is known for its cold waters, but if you have a good wetsuit you are in for some good surfing. Arequipa is an awesome spot. If you hop on a bus, you're a few hours' drive from Mejia beach. This spot is known for its carnival which takes place in February. This spot is great for surfing and bodyboarding most of the year.
