During your time relaxing in Floripa, stop by the wonderful Projeto Tamar. With many locations along the coast of Brazil, this project was started to protect and conserve turtles in the ocean off Brazil. They work with local fishing communities to not only stop the capture of turtles, but also help provide more sustainable fishing methods to help avoid turtles getting caught in nets and drowning. One such village is Barra da Lagoa where this visitor centre is located.
