Sound the Peace Bell at the Hiroshima Memorial Park.  The deep gong reverberated every few minutes as lines of school children took their turn at this monument. In fact, the sound from the gong was so regular during our visit that it became part of the landscape, a deep soulful accompaniment on a clear and peaceful morning. Sounding the gong is one way of expressing our desire for a better and safer world, and if you can’t have your turn because of the crowd, then enjoy the beautiful sound for world peace as others take theirs. #free #japan #history #architecture #westjapan #hiroshima
