Samana Ecolodge
If you want to stay somewhere close to nature and wake up to gorgeous misty views of the jungle, come stay at this place. The eco lodge is run by a British traveler and his Dominican wife. The lodge is in El Limón, just a few minute's drive from the popular village of Las Terrenas. You get the same natural beauty here but no crowd. The main attraction around is the waterfall which is one of the Dominican Republic's top 10 experiences to have. About the lodge - there's breakfast included so the owner, Ben, would most likely make you a veggie omelet with coffee. They grow food on the land so expect to see lots of fruit (the passion fruit is to die for) and vegetables. The houses are cozy and each has a mosquito net. There's internet available and the connection is really good. If you'd like to get into the village, you can walk (the lodge is about a 0.7mile walk from the road). To get around, you can get a moto taxi and a van to Las Terrenas. There's an outdoor shower, Bali style, and shared bathrooms. The lodge has a capacity of about 20 so you can stay with friends or by yourself; you'll never feel the overwhelming vibe of an all-inclusive here. #hotel #ecohotel #dominicanrepublic
