A return hike from Paine Grande campsite to the viewpoint over Grey Glacier took me seven hours, a distance of 22 kilometres. Battled a headwind through a valley and at times was blown backwards and sideways. January is one of the worst times to trek due to the ferocious wind. Grey Lookout gives distant views of the glacier and of Grey Lake. Another 1 ½ hours takes you to Grey Glacier ranger station and a viewpoint for closer views and could see small, blue icebergs floating in the lake. #chile #torresdelpaine #trekking
