Sihanoukville itself isn’t much to look at. There is a ton of construction and construction debris, aging sexpat workers and begging children. The beaches are dirty, the only clean ones are privately owned. If you are planning some time in this area do yourself a favour and head out to either Koh Rong or Koh Rong Samluem.
