The history of this building dates back to the 1600's when the Bernadine Monastery was constructed. The original building was damaged in it's first one hundred years and then abandoned shortly thereafter. However this beautiful baroque building was not empty for too long before an Orthodox Church was founded there. There were periods of time this building wasn't used as a church, during Soviet rule it even became a gym.
