You’ve read the book, you’ve watched the film, now see Banksy’s take on the iconic Vermeer painting. The Girl with the Pearl Earring is, of course, the inspiration for one of the newer Banksy pieces in Bristol, which appeared in 2014. In Banksy’s parody, the pearl is replaced with a security alarm, tying into the surveillance theme the artist likes to riff on.
