If you are not planning to spend the entire day (or for first dates), and you want to stay in Montreal, go to the Mont Royal Belvedere. It is a viewpoint overlooking the entire city. If you take the stairs, it is a 25 minutes walk to the top. It is a trail starting from Pine Avenue, in front of McGill Med Building.
