Technically the tour goes to Yala National Park, but if you're coming from Colombo, Matara is a great starting point. Sanjay, our tour guide, was excellent and explained so much about the animals and the history of the park. We saw elephants, a leopard, two sloth bears, a bunch of monkeys and many, many crocodiles and water buffalo.
