Roadside yurts.  Over 80% of Turkmenistan is covered by Karakum (black sand) desert. Most Turkmen were nomads and were not settled in cities and towns until the advent of the Soviet government. You can still see yurts (and even stay in one) in some rural areas. #turkmenistan #silkroad
