This hike is, in my opinion, the most beautiful hike in the Smoky Mountains. Not only is Alum Cave magnificent, but the hike to get there has views unlike any other. When I got near the top I found myself stopping to take pictures every few feet. The cave is surrounded by open views of the mountains that will leave you wanting to move to Tennessee. The cave itself is not really a cave as much as a rock overlook, but it's amazing nonetheless, and the sand at the cave makes you feel like you're in a different country. It's a great place to stop and have lunch if you're planning on hiking to the top of the trail. #smokymountains #hiking #gatlinburg
