Cumbe Mayo is has an impressive scene backed by huge rock formations known as Los Frailones. It is also famous for its extraordinary, well engineered pre-inca channels running for 9km across the mountain tops of 3600m. This hydraulic irrigation system is said to be the oldest man-made in South America. It is possible to walk from Cajamarca yo Cumbe Mayo in 3-4 hours.
