This is another easy hike, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth the trip up into the mountains. After a little drive along the high ridges of the Santa Ynez Mountains you come to the trailhead for the old burned out castle. The hike is less than a mile and if you didn’t stop and enjoy the view of Lake Cachuma you could be out and back in less than twenty minutes. But you should stop and enjoy the view of the mountains and the lake. Plus the ruins of the old mansion are pretty damn cool too.
