Quaint Arles packs ‘em in but it is a must-see for any art and architecture lover. It’s Roman ruins are a Unesco World Heritage site and, not surprisingly, Van Gogh fans flock here in large numbers. You can view many of the Dutch one-eared wonder’s masterworks at L’hospital d’Arles (now the Espace Van Gogh) where he was once confined.
