The ornate 14th-century Ploce gate on the eastern side is one of the three entrances into the Old Town Dubrovnik. The gate has an outer section which is the Revelin Fortress – a lookout point for town’s eastern approach, an inner section leading up to the main Stradun and a connecting stone-bridge running over a moat.   The place has been a favorite location for many filmmakers including those of Star Wars and the latest HBO series - Games of Thrones.
