Built in the 1800's by the order of count Karl Eberhard von Sievers (owner of Cēsis New Castle), on top of the ruins of the former Saint Catherine's Church which was destroyed in the Great Northern War. This church can be seen when strolling through the gardens surrounding the medieval castle.
