Museo Botero
The Botero Museum was created in 2000 to showcase the work of Fernando Botero. Botero’s work showcases 123 pieces of his recognizable paintings and artwork of oversized characters. This Colombian artist was made famous for his oversized or chubby versions of the Mona Lisa and oversized dictators, dancers, dogs, birds, and other animals. The Botero Museum is free to enter and is open every day except Tuesdays. Located in the neighborhood of La Candelaria the Botero Museum is located in a traditional colonial building, with both an upstairs and downstairs square area with an open courtyard in the middle. #botero #art #gallery
