The rapids is a classic activity in Bacalar. It is where the two lagoons meet and it forms estromatolites which are rocks that create the oxygen for the well being of the lagoon ecosystem. It is one of the few places in the world (with Australia and Chile) where you can observe those particular microbes formations. The water is very clear and you can play with the strong current.
