You can visit the town of Chiapas de Corzo. It is a traditional Mexican village which is specialized in handcraft and Amber jewelry. The town is surrounded by the same river as the canyon so you can do a boat tour or just walk around town. It is located about 10 km away from Tuxtla Gutiérrez so you can take the public transportation or take a tour including the canyon, the viewpoints and this amazing town.
