Man this place is huge and impressive. Built in the 7th century by the 5th Dalai Lama it is the winter residence of the Dalai Lama (until the People’s Liberation Army kicked out the current one (number 14)). No photos are allowed inside so you’ll just have to visit to see the incredible Buddhist shrines, worship halls, and tombs of past Dalai Lamas (they’re made out of pure gold. The most gold I’ve ever seen). You might want to be in Lhasa a couple days before visiting. The altitude is high and there are a fair few stairs to climb. #history #palace #buddhism #statue
