One of my favorite destinations in Mexico, Yelapa is a truly laid back area that's more or less quiet and off the beaten path. Daily tour boats from Puerto Vallarta make the beach busy from about 10am-4pm. But the boats provide great people watching and enough excitement to keep this sleepy town entertaining. What Yelapa lacks in bustle is made up in placid beauty, kind locals and incredible, authentic food. There's a couple great hikes to waterfalls, one right in town and the other is about an hour hike into the jungle.
