When driving through to Picton from Christchurch or vice versa, if there is daylight left I Always stop at kaikoura, if you turn off into the township and keep driving through until you can drive no more (you literally drive to a carpark at the end) you end up at this little gem! In our winter if you go then you will see all the beautiful baby seals all throughout the reserve, even just last week I went along (and we are in March) and I got to see some of the adult seals! Just beautiful scenery and beautiful wild seals playing around! Definitely a stop everyone should make! Even if it's just for an hour!
