For perhaps the most iconic building in Belarus and an interesting example of post-Soviet architecture, travel north to visit the National Library. Shaped as a giant rhombicuboctahedron (I hadn't heard of that shape before either!), it can be debated whether or not this building is aesthetically appealing or not, but no one can deny it's presence, especially when lit up in the evenings. If you wish to enter the main building you will need your passport.
