Norbulingka is the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Much less crowded than the more famous Potala Palace this is the only place you can actually see an image of the current (number 14) Dalai Lama. The Chinese government has his image banned but here it’s a part of a greater oil painting they couldn’t cover up without getting rid of the whole thing. You can see his living quarters/meditation rooms/etc. And the palace is on beautiful grounds with gardens and lots of places to just walk around. #history #art #architecture
