The Pamir highway is the second highest road in the world, 1250 km long, 9 passes to cross, maximum altitude of 4600 m above sea level. From there, you can have a look at Afghanistan (just on the other side of the river !), admire the highest peak in the region (Ak Baital, 4655 m) and... enjoy the snowy landscapes ! The road is still open in winter. It's a long trip and most of the road is in a pretty bad condition but it's worth it ! #mountains #photography #tajikistan
