Laguna San Rafael Laguna San Rafael is also accessible by carretera austral. From Puerto Rio Tranquilo you can hire a boat tour that will be able to take you there. It takes approx. 3-4 hours to get there depending on the weather, so be prepared to spend the entire day in a boat. The views of the glacier change depending on the weather as well; on a cloudy day you may be able to see the blue tones of the glacier better than on a sunny day.
