Crossing the Bridge Noodles
You can’t go to a city and not try it’s most famous dish. In Kunming’s case it’s this rice noodle soup. You are served the big bowl of broth and the ingredients on the side on a cutting board to put in yourself. The name origin supposedly comes from a scholar who had to study for exams and his wife would bring him food but she found by the time she crossed the bridge the broth was cold and noodles soggy so she put the broth in an earthenware pot and layered oil on top to keep the heat insulated and separated the other ingredients. #food #restaurants #snack #dinner
