Ghent is best know for its medieval art and architecture and this glorious museum does not disappoint in that area. As a matter of fact, the restoration of the Ghent Alterpiece is being undertaken at MSK as of this writing and the panels that have not yet been returned to their original setting can be viewed here. But the museum’s works also span the centuries with a large number of later paintings and some superb modern pieces rounding out the displays. This is truly a first-rate collection.
