Dominican Tree House Village
This is my favorite place to stay in Samaná. The resort is made up of 22 treehouses. You're completely immersed in nature with no internet. Everything is green and luscious. There's a waterfall in the backyard and an Indiana Jones bridge. You can go do yoga with Nina at the yoga room in the morning. The food is all local, the hot chocolate being delicious. The people are some of the warmest you'll ever meet. Bart, the owner, is a hilarious guy with a ton of stories. Kristina at the reception is such a lovely person who'll make sure you've got all you need. Nina and Alex at the bar are extremely helpful and friendly. Chalo who owns the gift shop in the back is a ridiculously good dancer and the peoceeds from his beautiful jewelry go to a local school and to support his two boys. David Martinez who comes around to telll stories by the fire and teach bachata is the most interesting, spiritual guy you'll meet. So back to the hotel, this place is the epitome of adventure travel. You can zipline in the backyard, ride bikes to the river, or just chill and read books in the main room. It's a must-experience at least once in your life (don't worry about bugs, it's thorougkyr fumigated). #hotel #adventure #jungle #treehouse
