Alfama
Alfama is the oldest neighbourhood of the city, dating back to the Moorish. Neighbours talking across windows, great restaurants around every corner and hidden views over the river make this one of my favourite spots. Be sure to check S. Vicente de Fora’s church and the National Pantheon out - both have beautiful rooftop views.
Tip: Head to Tejo Bar for a genuine musical jam after dinner or find a local Fado restaurant (not a tourist Fado trap!).
