The public beach at Anse La Raie features a large open area, perfect for picnicking and a protected bay area. Surrounded on each side by rocky peninsulas and an island further out, the bay has shallow water for quite some distance, you can stand virtually all the way to the island. While popular with locals on the weekend, during the windy winter months this is also a favourite with kitesurfers with a rental centre and school located right on the beach.
