One of my favourite gravel road passes. Winding through the Swartberg, meaning black mountain. You don't need a 4x4 but you might have to travel slow through some areas. Amazing rock features as you wind through the mountain. If you start in Oudtshoorn you will end in the quaint town Prins Albert which is a destination in its own right. Don't plan to do much more in one day. Halfway you will get the turn of for Gamkaskloof which is a legendary pass. It's a one way in and you have to take the same road out. Don't try to go in and out in one day as it takes at least 4 hours down.
