Fondation Jean Dubuffet
This museum is home to the collection of the superb French avant-garde artist Jean Dubuffet, the founder and champion of the “art brut” movement. This term basically translates to “”raw art” and focuses on artists and artwork squarely outside of the official mainstream, which was considered to be more “pure” by DuBuffet and other proponents. DuBuffet himself was known for his expressive works and use of unconditional materials. If you are a fan of modern art but not yet familiar with his work, it’s time you got to know it.
