The tallest mountain in the lower 48 is not located in a national park. It’s not too far from Yosemite National Park and is located in the Sierra Nevada. Even if you are not conquering the peak there’s plenty of other easier trails or you can drive up the road to get a good view. At the base of the mountains are sandstone boulders called the Alabama Hills popular with climbers and boulderers. You don’t need to go into the crowds of Yosemite to get into that Sierra Nevada wonderland. #hiking #photography #waterfalls #camping #climbing
