Dorobo Mobile Camp
#thingstodo #hiking #trekking The Dorobo Mobile Camp is modeled after the hunting and gathering lifestyle of the Dorobo, a sect of the Maasai community that lives off the wilderness. This is not a one-off taste of camping, but a well-crafted walking safari with a series of camping stops within the Mara Naboisho Conservancy. The whole experience starts at one of their three permanent camps - Wilderness Camp, Eagle View or Leopa d Hill – led by Maasai guides. Along the way, you will not only enjoy exclusive wildlife sightings and the allure of the Mara ecosystem landscape but also, learn the Maasai culture first-hand.
The trails are designed to expose you to a real wilderness camping experience without skimping on the little luxuries of life – tabling selection of first-class food and drinks at every turn. A recess for a picnic lunch, under a tree shade, is scheduled between the morning and the afternoon walks to your next designated stop. Each evening, the setting for your sundowner is different –the only constant being the delicious drink in your hand. In true African hospitality, the guides will keep you captivated with campfire stories while a bush dinner is in the works. Retire to one of the five comfortable fly tents, fitted with safari amenities including a soft mattress, under a clear night of twinkling stars. The routine somewhat repeats itself the next day. After several days of walk, you make your return trip back to one of their three main camps.
