Vallø castle located outside of Køge is dated back to the 14th century. Although it is no longer a residence to the royal family it used to be under King Frederik the 4th. Today it houses the 'Vallø stift' which is an organization for unmarried and widowed women of Nobel descent. The nature around the castle is absolutely stunning and it is worth a visit during all seasons.
