The parking lot is small but you've got about a million miles of sky to take in, so who cares, just get there early, park courteously and enjoy the view. Sunset is particularly lovely as the Blue Ridge Mountains cut a fine figure on the horizon. Expect plenty of selfie takers and more than a few photographers carrying heavy duty gear as they all wait for that perfect shot. Try looking at it without your phone though, that way you get the full experience.
