Coney Island
The beach here is open all year long but it’s during the summer of course that things really start rocking in this iconic Brooklyn neighborhood. Little daredevils can hop aboard the rattling, wooden Cyclone rollercoaster, just like NYC kids have done for nearly 100 years or take a hair-raising free fall down the landmark Astro Tower. You can test your skills at a variety of arcade games, get a belly full of greasy/sugary junk food or stroll down the boardwalk and pay a visit to the Coney Island Aquarium. Fireworks light up the sky every Friday night during the season and if you are lucky enough to score a ticket you can catch the Brooklyn Cyclones, a popular minor league baseball team, in action at the stadium.
