This is the oldest astronomical observatory in Eastern Asia and one of the oldest scientific facility of Earth. It has been constructed around 632-647 AD. The scientists used to watch the stars there in order to forecast the weather. It's around 9 meters high. Cheomseongdae litterally means in Korean "the tower from which one can watch the stars".
