Grote Markt
You won’t be able to put your camera away once you step into Antwerp’s marvelous Market Square. The elaborate architecture of the gorgeous guildhalls and UNESCO listed stadhuis, is simply eye-popping. The square’s 19th century bronze fountain depicts a legend surrounding the etymology of the city’s name, it’s a rather gory affair featuring a giant and a severed hand. Various festivals take place here during the summer and a Christmas market and ice rink await if you are here around the winter holidays.
