Dalton Highway
The only reason there is a two-lane road to the Arctic Ocean is oil, specifically the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. It’s a big deal in Alaska — ask any local. The pipeline opened up both transportation and tourism to the virtually uninhabited bush country above the Arctic Circle. You can certainly drive it yourself in summertime, but we hopped on a bus with Northern Alaska Tour Company for the leisurely 12-hour drive north from Fairbanks. We stopped at points of interest like the murky Yukon River and ended at oddball Coldfoot Camp.#alaska #roadtrip #globalgirltravels
