As you are swallowed by the dark walls of this winding street, it is not hard to imagine how Candlemaker Row served as the inspiration for Diagon Alley. Sunk into a chain of tall buildings, leading underneath some of the city’s brighter, more glittering streets, this alleyway is one of the city’s more unsettling spots.
