How this place has escaped National Park-dom is beyond me. This place has the largest roadless wilderness in the lower 48 and the longest undammed river. Rafting is a given here but besides that there’s hot springs, endless hiking, skiing in the winter, a ton of wildlife spotting, and Ernest Hemingway’s grave. The Americana vibe is strong here.
