The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation is an eccentricity as you can find only in Central Asia. What it actually is, is quite difficult to describe. Built in only 13 months by the British architect Norman Foster (who designed several other buildings in Astana) it's a congress hall/museum/theater that you can visit for 1000 tenge (around 3 $) with a private english-speaking guide. Every 6 years an international religious meeting takes place here, and some other meetings are held in one of the 8th floors of the pyramid. You can also see the tradional outfits of some of the 120 ethnies living "in peace" in Kazakhstan, in a room where "How Kazakhstan is an amazing country" is all explained ;) The last floor offers a panoramic view of the city and a greenhouse. #architecture #museum #pyramid #normanfoster #religion #astana #kazakhstan
