But unlike a lot of trails, you can access this spot by only hiking ⅕ of a mile up a natural, accessible path in the heart of Phoenix. The hole is an eroded opening that creates a rock window 200 feet above the city. Papago Park’s iconic, massive orange sandstone buttes stand out in contrast against the backdrop of urban buildings and distant mountain ranges.
