Despite the nearby traffic noise, Moorten Botanical Garden manages to be a charmingly tranquil spot. The lovingly tended grounds house a large variety of desert flora, mostly from the Western US and Mexico, but with a smattering of specimens from other parts of the world. There is also some petrified wood and old mining equipment on display as well as a shop for budding botanists to buy their own plants. If you are visiting with little ones, make sure to hold on to them tight and stay on the trail.
