Also known as Plaza de la Constitucion, Zocalo is where Mexico City started. Flanked by the National Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral, built between 1573 and 1813, - it is the largest Plaza in Latin America. Indigenous people perform dances and cleansing ceremonies here. You'll hear the drumming and smell the wafting incense. Concerts and cultural events also take place.
