I wasn’t familiar with a single artist on display in this grand showcase of modern Slovenian but I quickly started a roster of names to add to my art collection wishlist. The quality here is really high, especially the edgy sculpture and vivid abstracts, but there are also eye-catching black and white photos, etchings, linocuts and Impressionist works, most accompanied by lengthy and informative English captions. And I’ve not been able to, for better or worse, get the sounds and images of the bizarrely entrancing 1980s music videos near the entrance out of my head. If you lived through those times you’ll probably start having a few fun and somewhat embarrassing flashbacks...
