El bosque de las palmas (the forest of palms) is found in the Valle de Cocora, about 30 minutes via jeep (known as willy's in town) from the centre of Salento. It is possible to either take a short directly to this location or if feeling more energetic, you can take a 5 hour hike through the valley, reaching an altitude of 2,800m at the highest point.
